I presented two episodes of BBC Radio 4’s One to One, which gives broadcasters the chance to “follow their personal passions”. I talked to two people about parenting in the age of social media.
For the first episode, I talked to Lucy Jones, author of the excellent book Matrescence. Like me, she has young children and spends a lot of time on social media. We talked about gentle parenting and the experience of being constantly offered advice whenever you pick up your phone.
For the second episode, I met school counsellor Helen Oliver, who has older children and didn’t bring them up in quite the same atmosphere of perpetual online advice, and had a fascinating and different perspective.
